  • Who is this retreat for?
Our retreats are designed for women who enjoy being active, spending time outdoors, and connecting with others in a meaningful way. They are a great fit for those seeking a balance of movement, nature, and restoration.

    What fitness level is required?
A baseline level of fitness is recommended, and we strongly encourage preparing in advance so you can fully enjoy the experience. You should feel comfortable being active for several hours at a time, including hiking uphill and downhill, and being on your feet 4-6 hours a day. This is not an “off the couch” hiking trip, but you also don’t need to be an expert or elite athlete.

How many participants will there be?
Group sizes are intentionally kept small (8-12) to create a more personalized and connected experience.

Is it okay to come alone?
Absolutely. Many guests join on their own. Our small group size and shared experiences naturally create opportunities to connect, and it’s common to leave with new friendships.

Will there be free time to explore?
Absolutely. Each day is designed with a balance of planned activities and free time, giving you space to relax, explore, or enjoy the surroundings at your own pace.

  • Are flights included in the trip cost?
No. Flights to and from the retreat location are not included. This allows you the flexibility to book travel that best fits your schedule, preferred airline, and departure city.

    Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. Because retreats are intentionally small and space is limited, travel insurance is required to protect both you and the trip. Your policy should include trip cancellation/interruption, medical coverage, and emergency evacuation. We partner with DiscoverWell to help you find what best works for your travel plans. Find more information here and in Payments & Policies.

Proof of insurance will be required prior to final payment (see Payments & Policies for details).

What happens if my travel is delayed or canceled?
The retreat will begin as scheduled. Travel insurance helps protect you in the event of delays or cancellations.

Can I extend my stay before or after the retreat?
Absolutely. Many guests choose to arrive early or stay longer. We’re happy to provide recommendations for accommodations, transportation, and additional activities to help you make the most of your time.

When should I arrive and depart?
Please plan to arrive in Chamonix in time for the welcome dinner. Check-in typically begins in the late afternoon (4 PM), though you may be able to drop luggage earlier if needed.

The retreat concludes after a final group dinner, with departure the following morning by 10:00 AM.

Which airport should I fly into?
Geneva Airport is the closest and most convenient airport, located about one hour from Chamonix with easy shuttle access.

Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport is another option, approximately 2.5 hours away. It can sometimes offer more affordable flights and has a hotel directly at the airport, which can be helpful for early departures.

    Can I come from Paris?
Yes. You can take the high-speed TGV from Paris to Geneva, then connect by local train or arrange a shuttle to Chamonix.

    Is ground transportation included?
Ground transportation to and from Chamonix is not included. We recommend booking a shared or private transfer. We will offer suggestions of companies to book with.

  • How physically challenging are the hikes?
You can expect to be on your feet for 4–6 hours per day with up to 3,000ft elevation gain. For more detailed examples, please refer to the sample itinerary on the About Our Retreats page.

What kind of terrain and elevation can I expect?
Terrain and elevation vary by location, but you can expect a mix of well-maintained trails as well as rocky and uneven sections. Some hikes include short ladders or built-in stairs along the trail.

    What about the elevation?
The valley floor sits around 3,000 ft, and the highest points we reach are approximately 8,000 ft. For most people, altitude and acclimatization are not an issue.

Can I shorten a hike if needed?
Most days offer flexibility, with options to shorten or extend the route depending on how you’re feeling. This may include lifts, trains, buses, road access, or alternate variations. Some routes, especially point-to-point or high-alpine traverses, are more committing. Each itinerary notes where flexibility is limited, and we’re happy to help you find the best option for how you are feeling each day.

Will there be rest days or optional activities?
Yes. All activities are optional, and you’re always encouraged to listen to your body. You can choose to take a rest day, enjoy a wellness treatment, or participate in alternative activities depending on the location.

    What should I pack?
You can find a detailed packing list here. In general, plan for active days outdoors and variable conditions. Essentials typically include comfortable hiking shoes, a daypack or running vest, layers for warmth, and a rain jacket.

    What’s the weather like?
Weather in the Alps, especially in the high mountains, can be unpredictable and change quickly, even within a single day. Be prepared for anything from rain and snow to blazing sun. Layering is key so you can adjust throughout the day.

Will there be professional photos or videos?
We typically keep things informal and focus on being present. While there may not be a professional photographer, we will capture and share moments throughout the trip so you’ll have memories to take home.

  • Where will we be staying?
Accommodations vary by retreat, but we carefully select comfortable, well-located properties that reflect the spirit of the experience. Full details, including photos and amenities, will be shared in each retreat description.

    Are rooms single or shared?
Room configurations vary by retreat. In most cases, both single-occupancy and shared room options are available. Shared rooms are typically designed for two guests and may be a great option for friends traveling together, often offered at a lower price than single occupancy.

Does the property have wellness amenities like a sauna or hot tub?
Many of our retreats feature wellness amenities such as saunas, hot tubs, or similar spaces designed for relaxation and recovery. Specific amenities will vary by location and will be shared in each retreat description.

Is there Wi-Fi or cell service?
Wi-Fi is available at our accommodations. For cellular service, we recommend checking your international plan or considering an eSIM for reliable connectivity while traveling.

    Are there laundry facilities?
Many of our retreat accommodations include laundry facilities, though availability may vary by location. Specific details will be shared in each retreat description.

  • What kind of food will be served?
Meals are designed to be nourishing, balanced, and satisfying after active days. Depending on the retreat, meals may be prepared at the property or enjoyed at local restaurants. Specific menus and details will be shared in advance.

    Are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Yes. You’ll have the opportunity to share any dietary preferences, restrictions, or allergies on your guest intake form, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

In some alpine regions, dining options can be more limited than what you may be used to at home, though flexibility around dietary needs continues to improve. If you have specific concerns, you may want to bring a few supplemental items for peace of mind.

    Is alcohol included or available?
House wine will be provided with dinner, and you are welcome to purchase additional beverages based on your preferences.

That said, the focus of the retreat is on fueling your body for the days ahead, so we encourage you to make choices that help you feel energized, rested, and ready to fully enjoy the experience.

Will meals be at the house or at restaurants?
This varies by retreat, but typically includes a mix of meals at the accommodation and meals out at local restaurants, along with some free time to explore dining options on your own. Breakfast is usually provided daily, while lunch may be on your own or enjoyed during the day’s activities depending on the itinerary.

  • How much do the retreats cost?
Pricing varies by retreat depending on location, accommodations, and included experiences. In general, shared room options are offered at a lower price than single occupancy. Final pricing will be published once retreat dates, guides, and accommodations have been confirmed.

    Should I bring cash?
It’s a good idea to have some local currency on hand (approx 100 euro), especially in more remote areas where smaller establishments or mountain huts may not accept credit cards.

Do I need to tip the team?
No. Gratuities for the team are included in the cost of the retreat.

How much should I tip when I am in the Alps?

Tipping in Europe is more modest than in many other places. In most cases, rounding up or leaving about 5–10% is appreciated but not expected. For example, paying 60 euros for a meal that cost 55 euros is perfectly appropriate.

  • Do I need travel or health insurance?
Yes. Travel insurance is required for all retreats (see Payments & Policies for details).

    Are the guides certified?
Yes. We work with experienced, certified guides who are licensed and knowledgeable in the regions where we operate.

What forms or waivers do I need to sign?
Prior to your retreat, you will be required to sign a participant release and liability waiver. Additional waivers may be required depending on the guides or activities included in your specific retreat.
